Natural Coffee Processing Method (also known as the Dry Process)

In the natural process, coffee beans are dried with the whole fruit (cherry) still intact. This is the oldest and most traditional method of processing coffee

Harvesting

Ripe coffee cherries are handpicked or harvested.

Sorting

The cherries are sorted to remove any defective or unripe fruit.

Drying

The whole cherries (skin, pulp, and beans inside) are spread out on drying beds or patios.
They are dried under the sun for several days to weeks, depending on weather conditions.
The cherries are regularly turned to prevent mold and ensure even drying.

Hulling

After the cherries are completely dried, the outer layers (skin and pulp) are removed, leaving the green coffee beans.

Final Sorting & Storage

The dried beans are sorted, cleaned, and prepared for export or roasting.
